I know that mnay of you like to read, so let's learn to talk about our favorite books.

We know the word 'FAVORITE' right? It means the thing you like the best, for example:
 'My FAVORITE colour is red'.

So, when someone asks you 'What is your FAVORITE book?', you can say:

'My favorite book is Harry Potter'.

This sentence means the book I like best is Harry Potter.

'My favorite PERSON IN THE BOOK is Ron Weasely'.

So, the person that I like the best is Ron Weasley.

'I like him BECAUSE he is funny'.

This sentence tells us WHY you like the person. Why do I like Ron Weasely?  like Ron Weasley BECAUSE he is funny.
